Students

The European Institute of Human Sciences has over 80 full-time, residential students, most of whom have come to the UK from abroad to study at our Institute. Nationalities are diverse, but everyone is made to feel part of an extended family during their time with us.

Needless to say, learning is the focus of life here, and we try to facilitate this to our best ability. Students have access to a library stocked with Islamic works, and we provide a computer lab with Internet access.

Of course our courses are intensive, but your time here will not all be spent in study! There are many activities to choose from, and we try to organise outings for our students regularly. Below is some information about Student Life at EIHS.

Student Activities

We have direct access to the glorious Welsh countryside here and many of our students enjoy cycling, jogging or walking in the fields, woods and on nearby moor land. There is ample opportunity for horse-riding, fishing, kayaking, swimming and a variety of outdoor pursuits that can be undertaken within a 10 mile radius of the Institute. We are also situated close to the West Wales coastline that provides scenic National Trust Beaches and walks, as well as the popular tourist spots. Leaflets for all activities and sites of interest can be either found or requested in the Main Office. We are only 25 minutes drive from the town of Carmarthen where a variety of high street stores and a busy marketplace can be found.

For those who enjoy football, we have pitches that have proved popular with our own students as well as local community teams. Brothers have access to a small gym in the main building, whilst sisters have twice weekly aerobics classes in the hall. Students have access to ‘table tennis’ equipment and we have courts that sisters use to play netball or volleyball.
